ISAIAH Home of Love for Abandoned Children in Bulawayo was on Sunday gutted by a mysterious fire during the night.

BY SILAS NKALA This was confirmed by the home’s director, Martin Bawrow yesterday, who said the cost of the damage was yet to be ascertained.

Bawrow said the incident occurred on Sunday when a mysterious fire broke out damaging one of the children’s rooms, destroying most of the property and roofing.

“The fire broke out in the boardroom but fortunately no one was injured,” he said. “The whole room and its entire roof were totally destroyed. We do not know the source of the fire, but we do not suspect any foul play.”

The home has 21 children seconded by the Department of Social Services and most of the children would have been abandoned by parents or found on the streets.

Bawrow appealed to well-wishers to assist in refurbishing the affected infrastructure.
