Coach Joey Antipas watched Chicken Inn play a 1-1 draw against Chapungu in regulation time at the National Sports Stadium before bowing out of the tournament after a penalty shotot out.

The Glamour Boys will be buoyant when they troop to Bulawayo for their league assignment against the GameCocks after bundling out Chibuku Super Cup title holders FC Platinum 7-6 in another penalty shoot-out also at the National Sports Stadium.

Dynamos and Platinum had played a goalless draw in regulation time and it was sweet revenge for coach Tonderai Ndiraya and his charges after the platinum miners derailed the league campaign with a 3-1 win at Mandava Stadium on September 12.

But the focus this weekend is on the big league match when Chicken Inn, leading the pack with 49 points, entertain Dynamos, who are third with 42 points, with seven matches left in the 2015 season.

FC Platinum on position two with 44 points, return to Bulawayo, where they last hammered How Mine 3-0 to face struggling Tsholotsho FC at White City Stadium at the weekend.

Save for Chapungu who beat Chicken Inn on Saturday, teams from the Southern Region fared badly in the Chibuku Super Cup, with How Mine crashing to a 0-3 defeat to ZPC Kariba in the quarter-finals on Sunday, a few days after coach Luke Masomere threw in the towel. Chapungu date Dynamos in the semi-finals on the weekend of October 3-4.

Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu’s second half syndrome continued to manifest as his side Triangle was clobbered 5-0 by Harare City in another quarter-final at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Harare City lock horns with ZPC Kariba in the semi-finals with the venues yet to be announced.

Highlanders, Hwange, Tsholotsho FC, and WhaWha fell by the wayside in the first round of the tournament with the Bulawayo giants Bosso losing 3-4 to How Mine at Barbourfields Stadium last month.

Hwange lost 0-2 to Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium in the first round with Tsholotsho losing 0-3 to Triangle at Gibbo in a penalty shoot-out while WhaWha fell to Dynamos 0-1 at Rufaro Stadium.
