He was oozing with confidence of enhancing his chances of grabbing the Golden Boot award.

Mtizwa arrived back home with Bosso teammates Nqobizitha Masuku and Teenage Hadebe from Congo-Brazzaville, where they were on national duty with the Under-23 for the African Games.

Speaking from Harare before travelling to Bulawayo on Tuesday, Mtizwa, who is tied with log leaders Chicken Inn hitman Edmore Chirambadare on 10 goals, said he will start training with Highlanders today and is hoping to make it into the team that will face Caps United.

“As soon as I arrive in Bulawayo tomorrow (today) I will start training. I hope I will pick up where I left by scoring when we take on Caps United. Hopefully with my colleagues Hadebe and Masuku, we will bring change and better fortunes for Highlanders. I am not under pressure from Chirambadare for the top goal scorer’s award. We have scored 10 goals apeace, but if you look at it, he has played more games than me,” Mtizwa said.

Chirambadare grabbed his 10th goal in the 2-1 win over Triangle in their last game in the league before the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals played last weekend.

Seven matches remain before the curtain comes down on the 2015 season, with Highlanders wallowing on position 10 on the log table with 28 points.

Mtizwa last played for Highlanders when the Bulawayo giants lost 0-1 to WhaWha at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.

He missed the Bulawayo derby against Chicken Inn due to suspension when Bosso lost 2-3 to the log leaders and when they lost 0-1 to Harare City at Rufaro Stadium, Mtizwa was still in Congo-Brazzaville, also missing the 1-0 win over Flame Lily at Barbourfields Stadium.

It was Highlanders’ first win after four defeats with new coach Amini Soma-Phiri, who lost his first to Harare City, in charge.

Mtizwa last scored when Highlanders lost 1-2 to FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium after he had grabbed a hat trick in the 5-1 routing of How Mine at the same venue.
