Mark Ncube (38) beat up his father-in-law Tapinda Lazaraus Muleya (60) demanding his beast following his separation with the latter’s daughter.

Ncube was last Friday ordered to do 210 hours of community service at Nsoonga Primary School after he was convicted on his own plea of guilty to the assault charge before Hwange magistrate Portia Mhlanga.

Prosecutor Fadzayi Mharadze told the court that on May 16 2014, Ncube stormed his in-laws’ home demanding the return of his marriage beast and a brawl broke out after the family refused to budge to his demands.

Ncube assaulted Muleya with clenched fists several times on the chest and neck.

In his plea of guilty, Ncube said: “I was angry. I found beads and clothes in my bedroom that had been left by Muleya in my absence so I did not know what was going on.

“He refused to give back my cow because I am no longer with his daughter.”
