BY Nqobile Bhebhe Mayor Martin Moyo, in a statement yesterday said the memorial service will be held at the Large City Hall at 3pm this afternoon.

“Residents of Bulawayo, stakeholders and sister local authorities are invited to the memorial service of the late town clerk of the City of Bulawayo, Mr Middleton Nyoni, which will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Large City Hall from 3pm to 6pm,” he said in a statement.

Tomorrow another service will be held at Pelandaba Seventh-Day Adventist Church before burial.

Nyoni succumbed to colon cancer at a private hospital in Harare on Sunday.

He was 62.

Nyoni joined Bulawayo City Council as a section accounting officer in 1983 and held various positions, including principal accountant, assistant city treasurer, deputy city treasurer and city treasurer, before he was elevated to town clerk in 2009, taking over from Stanley Donga, who died in 2007.
