MDC-T deputy national organising secretary and Nkulumane legislator Thamsanqa Mahlangu has died.

Party secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora said Mahlangu passed on at a private hospital in Bulawayo yesterday morning after battling cancer “for quite some time”.
“He succumbed to cancer early this morning (yesterday) in Bulawayo. We have been robbed of one of the most fearless fighters for democracy,” Mwonzora said.
“He was a member of our standing committee and a long-serving cadre, who also served as MP for Nkulumane, as well as national youth chairperson.”
Mahlangu served as Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment deputy minister during the inclusive government.
The late legislator is also former national chairman of the MDC-T youth wing.

MDC-T Bulawayo provincial deputy spokesperson Felix Magalela Sibanda described Mahlangu “as a true democrat”.
“He started politics as a youth and rose through the ranks to the national executive structures of MDC-T and he was now serving his second term as an MP,” he said.
“We are at a loss for words, but we would like to send our condolences to his family and we will announce the burial arrangements once people come together.”
Mourners are gathered at 15053 Nkulumane 12 in Bulawayo.
Mahlangu is survived by his wife Brenda Zaranyika and two sons, Munyaradzi (14) and Zibusiso (6).
Burial arrangements have not yet been announced.
