ZIMBABWE hip-hop 2012 award-winning dance group, Anti-virus from Bulawayo, will represent the country at a prestigious dancing competition dubbed Money in the Bag, to be held on Saturday in Pretoria, South Africa.

REPORT BY SINDISO DUBE

The competition, organised by South African award-winning hip-hop artist, Khuli Chana, will see a number of dance groups in Africa participating such as Relapz from South Africa.

Group member Ricco Andrews said they were excited about the competition and could not wait to battle it out with Africa.

“We hope the trip will be our gateway to success and we hope to clinch a sponsorship deal afterwards since we have been funding ourselves and its difficult since we do dancing for a living,” Andrews said.

The competition, which is more of a street game competition, will see the winner walking away with R10 000 and a special package yet to be advised by Khuli Chana.

“I believe we will make the country proud by clinching the title, we thank God’s guidance for all we have achieved,” Andrews added.

Anti-virus was formed two years ago and consists of Ricco Andrews, Victor Madzura, Prince Dube and Antony Banana. Last year the group won the best dance group award at the Zimbabwe hip-hop awards and at the Jibilika Music Festival. Already they are looking to the future, as they have set up a junior team, — AV dream team.
