In Bulawayo, Old Miltonians (OMs) will be seeking to maintain their fine form when they take on city rivals Western Panthers at Hartsfield Rugby ground on Saturday.

OMs will be heading into this weekend’s clash seeking to revenge the 23-55 defeat they suffered at the hands of Panthers when the two sides met in the first half of the season. The Gorge “Rollo” Mukorera-coached outfit will be seeking to regain the form they had in the first half of the season.

Panthers are fifth on the log standings with 18 points and were stunned by Zvishavane Bulls last week at Hartsfield as the Midlands-based outfit dug up a 29-19 — their first victory of the season.

OMs will be oozing with confidence coming from a 32-17 victory over Gweru Sports Club last week. McAdams Stadium will host the Midlands derby as Bulls will clash with Gweru Sports Club in a bottom-of-the-table clash set to produce fireworks.

Both sides will be eager to prove that they have what it takes to play top-flight rugby. Gweru Sports Club, sitting on seventh position on the log table, claimed a narrow 20-13 victory in the first round clash against their Midlands counterparts in what was their first win of the season.

The pick of the weekend will see Old Hararians (OH) squaring off with city rivals Harare Sport Club (HSC) in the capital. The two sides played out an entertaining clash when they collided at Old Hararians home ground, with OH handing the defending champions their first defeat of the season in an 18-13 victory for the home side.

OH are nine points clear at the summit of the log standings with 43 points from the 10 games while HSC are on third position with 27 points.

Second-placed Red Seal Old Georgians will host Matabeleland Warriors at the capital with the home team eyeing a double over Warriors, still in the hunt for a spot in the semifinals.

Warriors are tied on 18 points on the log standings with Panthers and will be looking for a victory so that they stay in the running for a semi-final clash.
