The three are Masvingo Feneral Hospital, the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe-run Morgenster Mission Hospital and the Masvingo City Council-run Runyararo Hospital.

Runyararo Hospital received an ambulance, incubators, electric beds and life support equipment, among other equipment, while Masvingo General Hospital was recipient of beds, drugs, wheelchairs and other consumables. Morgenster Hospital received wheelchairs, 5 000 spectacles, drugs and mattresses.

Speaking at the handover ceremony at the Masvingo Civic Centre on Tuesday, chairman of the Kernern-Masvingo Association, Chrishan Flietcher, said the association was always ready to assist under the twinning arrangement.

“We are proud to be a twinning partner and a friend to Masvingo,” he said. “We will keep on assisting where we can and I was also impressed by your hospitality here.”

Masvingo town clerk Adolf Gusha pledged to put the donations to good use.

“We promise to be professional and put the donations to good use so intended beneficiaries will benefit,” he said. “We are very grateful.”
