An adulterous Gweru soldier has been ordered to pay her lover’s wife $2 000 damages for wrecking her marriage.

Loveness Zimbandi had an affair with Felix Muzembe (52), a soldier although she knew he was married and the relationship bore a child.
Muzembe’s estranged wife Rosemary Muzembe (48) of Nkulumane 12 in Bulawayo sued Zimbandi for $5 000 citing wasted time and that the extramarital affair denied her conjugal rights.
On Tuesday Zimbandi told Bulawayo civil court magistrate Sibongile Msipa that Muzembe had lied to her that he was a widower.
But the magistrate dismissed her defence saying she never attempted to establish the truth on her own.
“Respondent has to pay applicant $1 000 for loss of consortium and $1 000 for loss of contomelium,” Msipa ruled.
