The 30-member group consists of experienced musicians who include the inaugural winner of the Mnet Idols (East and Southern Africa) 2008, Eric Moyo.

The group also comprises South Africa-based Mkhululi Bhebhe, well known for bringing the Zimbabwean music to the famed Joyous Celebration Choir, Thembelani Mdlaziba, Gabile and Masina.

Mdlaziba, one of the group members, confirmed the show to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday.

“We will hold our first concert as a group and we promise nothing but joy and warmth in the presence of the Lord,” he said.

“The concert will bring together different talent and vast experience we have gathered as individuals.”

Unfortunately Bhebhe will not make it to the concert as he is reportedly on another tour.

“But at our next shows he will definitely be there,” Mdlaziba added.

Moyo, another group member, chipped in saying the combination of talent and experience will give Bulawayo a gospel show to remember.

“The city has got a lot of talent and it only needs a proper way of packaging it and on the night we will present good stuff packaged the Zimbabwean way,” Moyo said.

He said people should expect to laugh, cry, be delivered and repent from songs they know and are familiar with in their churches, but packaged differently.

“Fans should expect to hear the talent they have in their backyard all packaged and put before them,” Moyo added.

Another artiste, part of the group, is Avis Ndlovu — also a member of South African Joyous Celebration.

“The name Vocal EX originated from ‘vocal extraordinaire’ and we believe our vocal ability will be able to bring and preach hope, love, peace and culture in the world,” Madlaziba said.
