Nomagugu Dube, Prenade Makumborenga, Thembela Chanza, Nozinhle Ncube and Shingirai Tatera are preparing for their examinations.

Dube will be writing Advanced Level examinations while the other four will be preparing for tertiary examinations.

However, Zimbabwe Volleyball Association administrator Sibangani Mashasha said the absence of the players will have little impact on the team as they will be banking on seasoned players like Eunice Tsuura, Rejoice Musu and Media Mafuta.

“We will be without five players preparing for their examinations, but we still have high chances of winning our games because we have players like Rejoice Musu, Media Mafuta and Eunice Tsuura who did well in our previous games-we hope they will do their best in Zambia,” Mashasha said.

The women’s volleyball team re-grouped in Harare yesterday for training ahead of departure on Sunday.

Zimbabwe will contend with Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Swaziland and Namibia in the games that will run from October 23-26.
