BPA chairman Godfrey Kondo said they were grateful to technology development which they intend to fully utilise to interlink the association with other sporting disciplines.

“This is one of the pilot projects that will link us with other pool associations in other countries. To talk about making ourselves known at world level might be a dream, but it is something we can achieve at regional level. We have produced a number of quality players who can now compete at any level. Through our website we also intend to share ideas with other sporting disciplines,” Kondo said.

The association has so far produced national pool champions in the form of Shylet Musondo who was crowned this year’s Carling Black Label National Pool women’s champion after beating Gweru’s Miriam Chiangakobvu 2-0 at Raylton Sports and Recreational Club in September.

Meanwhile, on the same day and venue, the BPA will also have the 2013 teams and individuals awards winning ceremony.

There are monetary prizes for the top five teams in both the premier league and the division one league while the top three teams in both leagues will also receive medals.

The winners of the 2013 Premier League Kings Sports Club are guaranteed a cool $2 000, a shield and 30 gold medals.

For coming second Entumbane will be awarded $1 600 and 30 silver medals while Extreme Pool Club will pocket $1 200 and 30 bronze medals.

Raylton Pool Club and Gold and Black will receive $800 and $400 for coming forth and fifth respectively. In the Division One league Nketa Stars did not only book themselves a ticket to the Premier League, but also a handsome $1 300 prize money coupled with a shield and 30 gold medals while TelOne Dragons and Drill Hall will get $1 000 and 30 silver medals and $800 plus 30 bronze medals respectively.

For coming fourth and being the final team promoted to the Premier League West Com will get $600 while fifth placed UBH will walk away with $300 for their efforts.

Also at stake are chairman’s awards that includes player excellency awards to be received by four men and two women, best emperors to be won by five individuals, Best Zimbabwe Republic Police Pool club, the best Division One and Premier League pool clubs, pool masters for 2013 and the memorial awards for five families who lost their members who were associated with BPA.
