Passmore Bernard (right full-back) from Motor Action and Morgan Mungombe (defensive midfielder) and striker Ishmael Lawe from Monomotapa started training with Chicken Inn yesterday.

Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas yesterday confirmed to Southern Eye Sport that they had brought the three players on board.

“I can confirm that we have signed three players, two from Monomotapa and one from Motor Action. Ishmael Lawe, Passmore Bernard and Morgan Mungombe started training with us today (yesterday) and we hope they will do their best at the club,” Antipas said.

Meanwhile, Nyoni who was in Antipas’ plans for the 2014 season has left the club as he is already trying his luck with Bosso the team that he left at the end of the 2009 season.

Antipas said he was shocked when he learnt that Nyoni was leaving the club, but there is no way he could have stopped him from making his decisions.

“That’s what I heard yesterday (Monday) and the fact that he is not with us here confirms it all. He is an experienced goalkeeper and he was part of my plans for the season, but because he is gone I am forced to find a replacement for him. We wish him all the best,” he said.

Nyoni who started training with Highlanders yesterday at White City Stadium said he is hoping to rejoin his former club.

“Actually I am at training with Highlanders right now and I want to play for the club I left four years back. I tried to negotiate with Chicken Inn for a new contract in December, but they were not clear, so I decided to make my way out,” Nyoni said.

Chicken Inn has already suffered an early blow following the possible departure of the impressive Kudakwashe Mahachi who is likely to join Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa while midfielder Danny “Deco” Phiri, with the Warriors in the African Nations Championships finals is also reportedly eyeing a move to Bosso.

However, Antipas dismissed the reports saying Deco has a running contract that expires at the end of 2014.

“I have been hearing reports linking Deco to other local clubs, but as far as I am concerned he is our player because he still has a running contract with the club. We are still looking for more signings as we want to cover the gap that Tendai Ndoro left, but we cannot reveal the names of our targets at the moment,” he said.

Ndoro who won the golden boot award for the 2013 season after banging in 18 league goals has joined Absa PSL side Mpumalanga Black Aces.
