NOMINEES of Zimbabwe’s premier awards, the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) will be announced next Wednesday.

National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) communications manager Catherine the names of nominees would be out 10 days before the awards ceremony.
“It is tradition the nominees are released 10 days before the country’s prestigious event and will be out on Wednesday next week as the event will be drawing closer,” she said.
The 13th edition of the Nama ceremony will be held for the second consecutive time in Bulawayo on February 15 at a local hotel.
There are 35 categories in this year’s awards as NACZ honours individual artists and groups for their contributions to the country’s music, literature, art, dance, visual arts, media, film and television sectors.
There awards that would be be given to people that have contributed to the development of arts in the country.
