Southern Eye expose spurs govt to act on Tsholotsho flood victims

THE GOVERNMENT has dispatched a high-powered ministerial team to Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North in response to a Southern Eye expose on the plight of the flood victims in that district.

Tsholotsho flood victims accused government of neglecting them and turning a blind eye to their cries for help by only focusing on the Masvingo flood disaster.

Government declared the Masvingo floods a national disaster resulting in a stampede by donor agencies, companies, and state entities among other corporations to assist the victims.

Senior Minister of State, Simon Khaya-Moyo leads the government delegation that comprises of Governor, Cain Mathema, Jonathan Moyo (Information and Publicity), Sydney Sekeramayi (Defence), Ignatius Chombo (Local Government), Joseph Made (Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development), Lazarus Dokora (Primary and Secondary Education), David Parirenyatwa (Health and Childcare), Obert Mpofu (Transport and Infrastructural Development), Kembo Mohadi (Home Affairs), Saviour Kasukuwere (Environment, Water and Climate) and Walter Chidhakwa (Mines and Mining Development).
