The Bulawayo top 10 music chart show is hosted by Bulawayo wheel-spinner Gibson Ncube.

TKP’s song was voted into pole position by scores of ZiFM listeners via WhatsApp application messaging and the Facebook platform specifically set up for the Bulawayo top 10 music charts.

Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle the host of the show, Ncube said, TKP’s track received overwhelming support and rave views from ZiFM listeners.

“Before we even started registering and counting the votes, Phumilamga had already got 10 times more votes than the two songs that eventually didn’t make it in the top 10. That’s one of the good things about the chart-it is controlled by peoples votes,” he said.

Ncube who has risen to be the most influential radio presenter in raising Bulawayo’s music said he had set a goal in making a difference in the city’s music industry.

“Some of our music is not only good, but it is great and we need to make sure that their music is exposed to the country and the nation gets to know these artistes and engage their works one way or the other,” Ncube said.

When TKP was quizzed on how she felt after her track made it into the top 10 she said: “I was ecstatic, it is good feeling knowing your work is being appreciated, I am happy to share my talent with the rest of the world.”

The 22-year-old Magwegwe-born house queen’s Phumilamga is off her six-track extended play titled Afro-Platinum Music which also includes tracks such as Ndoyenda and I am not Sorry.
