OSK yet to deicide on Donald Ngoma

SWEDISH top-flight football side Orebro SK (OSK) is yet to make public their decision on Warriors and FC Platinum striker Donald Ngoma who has been trying out with them for the past three weeks.

Ngoma teamed up with the Allsvenskan outfit while they were on a pre-season camp in Portugal for a two-week trial stint that was extended by one week.

With the Allsvenskan starting this weekend, the same time as the domestic Premier Soccer League, OSK coach Per-Ola Ljung’s thoughts on Ngoma remain a secret.

Last Tuesday Ngoma featured for the club’s Under-21 side in a friendly match with Whitehaven, further throwing into speculation Ljung’s decision. He grabbed a first-half goal in the 7-0 routing of Whitehaven before assisting Kalle Holmberg’s 73rd minute goal.

FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo said the Swedish club was yet to contact the Zimbabwean club.

“Donald was given a week extension, but OSK are yet to come back to us about their position on him,” Chizondo said.

“I have been in touch with Donald and he is saying everything is going on well. The only problem he is facing is adjusting to the weather.”

FC Platinum president George Mawere was also not aware of OSK’s position on the striker.

“I don’t know at the moment because I am not in the office. You can get hold of our club secretary (Benson) Virimayi,” Mawere said.
Virimayi could not be reached for comment.

Ngoma’s trials were organised by South African player agent Ryan Hartslief. From the Warriors group that did duty at the African Nations Championships, only Ngoma has attracted a European club. The lanky forward last year tried out at South African side AmaZulu, but nothing materialised.
