Banda turned out for Bantu Rovers in 2012 before moving to the gold miners last season.

His move to How Mine was met with a lot of criticism from soccer analysts who felt he should have stayed at Bantu Rovers.

Before joining Bantu Rovers, Banda was with Highlanders, joined FC Platinum although he did not get much game time prompting his move to Tshintsha Guluva.

Banda has marshalled his defence which comprises Morris Kadzola, Brighton Dube and Nyasha Mukumbi, well. This weekend Banda faces his former coach at Highlanders and paymaster at Bantu Rovers, Methembe Ndlovu.

“It is going to be a difficult match. Both teams are coming from a loss and we all want to win as many games as we can. Bantu Rovers are unpredictable, so we will approach the game with caution,” he said.

While at Bantu Rovers Banda played with goalkeeper Takunda Mutanga, Nqobizitha Masuku, Benson Phiri, Emberton Tshuma and Fortune Ncube while at Highlanders he played with Obadiah Tarumbwa, Zephania Ngodzo and Patrick Mpofu all of whom are now at Bantu Rovers.

“They (Bantu Rovers) have different players some of whom I have never played with or against. Then we were coached by Rueben Tsengwa and Methembe has since taken over, so I do not know what to expect,” he said.

How Mine lost the match against Dynamos 0-1 with Bantu Rovers falling to Black Rhinos by the same scoreline.

Chikurupati, as How Mine are known have not been prolific in front of goal missing a number of chances against Dynamos.

“Our major problem so far has been our scoring. We have been working on that and we hope there is an improvement in the next match. Everyone is available for selection at the moment,” Banda said.

How Mine and Bantu Rovers last met in 2012 when they were both in the Southern Region Division One League.

Philani “Beefy” Ncube took over as coach when How Mine were promoted to the Premier League while Ndlovu has been out of the Premier League action for three years.

How Mine won both their encounters with a 1-0 scoreline.
