Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Abednico Ncube on Tuesday confirmed that no one had come forward to claim the body.

“We can’t safely say we have identified him. He has been said to be Mthabisi Dube, but no relatives have come forward to claim the body. His body is still lying unclaimed at UBH mortuary,” he  said.

Lokukhanya’s body was identified by her family and buried at Luveve Cemetery last Sunday. Fear gripped Nkulumane 12 last week after the bodies were discovered by city council cleaners.

The woman was naked save for a pair of panties while the man was wearing a pair of jeans and a purple sweater.

Their throats were slit and the bodies dumped in a drain at the corner of Intemba and Rangemore roads. No arrests have been made and investigations were still underway.

Ncube’s relatives have revealed that the woman got involved in a love triangle after she told them she had recently met a cross-border driver from Gwanda who was spoiling her with money.

Mthabisi, who was said to be a tout with commuter omnibuses plying the City-Magwegwe route, was her long-time boyfriend. Ncube was last seen with Dube on April 20 before their bodies were found last Thursday.
