Cathrine Frank denied the charge when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa and she was found not guilty after a full trial.

Allegations against Frank were that on April 25, she called her cousin Lorraine Magdalene of Burnside to her house in Morningside to discuss family issues.

When she arrived at the house, Frank allegedly asked Magdalene to clarify rumours circulating that she (Frank) had taken her (Magdalene) to a traditional healer.

An argument broke out and Frank allegedly told Magdalene that she was a witch and was responsible for the death of one of their relatives. Magdalene reported the matter to the police, leading to Frank’s arrest.
