JOHANNESBURG — After being named as the Soccer Laduma readers’ player of the season, Willard Katsande has sent a message of thanks to those that voted for him.

Despite having an impressive season in Amakhosi colours, the 28-year-old has ended the season without a trophy to his name, though he is nominated for a number of personal accolades.

Katsande is up against Sundowns’ Alje Schut and Vilakazi for the Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) footballer of the season award, as well as receiving a nomination for the PSL player’s player of the season award, where he will battle it out with Vilakazi once more, as well as Teko Modise.

However, the tough tackling midfield man took time out of his schedule to thank the Soccer Laduma readers, saying: “I want to send a special message of thanks to all of the Soccer Laduma readers that voted for me. Without them I’m nothing and I appreciate their love and support, it makes me work extra hard.”

The PSL awards ceremony will take place on Sunday evening when the top performers in South African football will be rewarded for their efforts this season.
