RAUNCHY pole dancer Beverly “Bev” Sibanda was arrested in Harare yesterday in connection with her alleged explicit dance routines at the Airport Lounge where she had been invited to perform at the Harare International Carnival Samba Night last week.

ENTERTAINMENT REPORTERS

bev-jail-hsePolice spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrest, but declined to shed more light over the matter.

Sources said police swooped on Beverley after a video of her alleged offensive dance routines went viral on social media. The video shows her on the dance floor lying on top of a man, with most of her backside exposed.

“Bev’s arrest could be caused by her indecent pictures that were published recently,” said a source who preferred to remain anonymous.

This is not the first time that the pole dancer has courted controversy and got arrested for indecent exposure at night spots.

In 2012, Bev was arrested after causing a storm performing her alleged offensive dance routines using a Delta Beverages beer bottle.

Local female dancers are in the habit of stripping and dancing in semi-nude attire in view of the public during their performances in different night clubs, which is against the rules and regulations of the Censorship Board.

Bev’s acts have been received with mixed feelings with some members of the public calling for banning of pole dancing in local clubs. Happers Mapimhidze, Bev’s manager was not reachable for comment at the time of going to print.
