THANDIWE MOYO SPORTS CORRESPONDENT Chicken Inn . . . . 0 Dynamos . . . . . . 0 DeMbare have failed to beat Chicken Inn at home in their last six PSL encounters. The draw took Dynamos to the top spot with 23 points.

Chicken Inn moved one place up to sixth with 20 points.

The GameCocks coach Joey Antipas said the draw was a fair result for them.

“It was an evenly contested match. A draw is a fair result. We played well, but we fizzled out late in the first half. We came back and dominated the last 20 minutes of the match.

“We did not create enough chances and playing against a team like Dynamos, a point is a point,” he said.

Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa conceded that his team had missed a number of chances that they could have buried.

“We had to pick up a point. The opposition played well, but we missed a lot of chances in the first half and in the second half we missed again inside the box,” he said.

“We have to go back and sit down and talk about where we went wrong. It is the same old story that we are missing chances even within six yards.

“We can say that a goal poacher is needed, but we have a number of strikers and they need confidence for them to score.

“There are no small teams in the league at the moment,” the defending champions’ head gaffer said.

Four minutes into the match Chicken Inn could have scored a goal when Canaan Nkomo’s shot stunned goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi who punched it out for a corner, but the resultant set-piece yielded nothing.

In the ninth minute, John Passmore Bernard’s flick from a Thomasa Chimenya cross inside the box was collected by Mukandi.

Dynamos were to miss the first opportunity to score in the 14th minute when Ronald Chitiyo failed to connect a Washington Pakamisa’s cross leaving the ball to trickle out for a goal-kick.

Three minutes later veteran Murape Murape was left sprawling on the ground when he failed to latch onto Ocean Mushure’s cross inside the box.

As Dynamos gained the upper hand in the match (36th min) Devon Chafa dispossessed Thabani Goredema a few metres outside the Chicken Inn box and passed the ball to Anesu Gondo who raced towards goal and with goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze off his mark, Gondo shot wide.

Gondo was to miss another chance two minutes into added on time.

As the second half commenced Dynamos took the driving seat with Pakamisa’s point blank shot being blocked by Chipezeze.

In the 73rd minute Bernard’s shot from a free-kick forced Mukandi to stretch high to tip it out following an injury on Devine Lunga.

Bernard had another opportunity in the 84th minute from another set piece, but the ferocious shot was punched back by Mukandi and found no takers.
