Siwela of Spitzkop high-density in Gwanda had reportedly spent the night out at a nightclub where he worked and had just arrived home on Sunday morning when he killed his 28-year-old colleague Tarisai “Bhawu” Ncube.

A shopkeeper at one of the shops in Spitzkop close to the night club said he had seen Siwela and a friend blocking the way of an elderly security guard and calling him names.

“As l was going to work, l saw the two in a scuffle with an elderly security guard and I increased my speed fearing that they might turn on me,” said the shopkeeper.

“They then came into the shop and bought a Coke and diluted their hot stuff and that was when l realised that they were young, but little did I know that one of them was going to kill someone that morning.”

Ncube reportedly met Siwela as he headed home and demanded his cellphone memory card.

Siwela told Ncube to follow him to his parents’ house where he armed himself with a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed the victim once in the chest.

Ncube died of internal bleeding at Gwanda Provincial Hospital and would be buried in Matshetsheni today while Siwela appears in court.
