Tinashe Muguti (27) of 5.3 Infantry Battalion Battle Fields in Kwekwe, Unity Mutsure (25) of 5.1 Infantry Battalion in Kwekwe, Junias Gandidze (25) a Sino Zim Cotton Company employee, Hebert Hakurotwi (43) of Amaveni in Kwekwe and Kevin Gous (33) of Chegutu have been behind bars since their arrest early last month.

On Wednesday the five accused were not asked to plead to robbery charges when they appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja, who further remanded them in custody to August 20.

It was the State’s case that on July 10 at around 1.30pm, the five went to Copper Queen business centre in Gokwe North driving an Isuzu KB300 armed with logs and stones.

They went to Manwa Kudzanai’s house where they broke the door down to gain entry and robbed him of $5 550 and a Sumsung Galaxy cellphone.

They proceeded to Talent Makore’s house and allegedly robbed him of $2 288 before going on to rob Precious Chishumba of $1 154 at her house.

A report was made to the police and investigations led to the arrest of the five.
