Bosso chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said they received the donations on Monday.

“We got the boots on Monday, but we have not given them to the players as yet,” he said.

“We are still to discuss with the junior league coaches on how to distribute them.

“We do not know at the moment whether to give them to the cleverest, the neediest or those considered rising stars.”

A very grateful Gumede said this was Hlabangana’s second donation in three years.

“Three years ago he donated a set of uniforms, bibs and shin pads for the senior team. He has not been donating on his own, but they are a group of Highlanders supporters based in England,” Gumede said.

Hlabangana is a former player who turned out for the team in the late ’60s.

He then became a treasurer of the club under the chairmanship of Gumede and served in the finance committee that procured Highlanders offices along Robert Mugabe Way.

He said on the same day Chief Gumede of South Africa donated five balls which have already been given to the juniors.
