Nyoni has been away from work since the beginning of August.
In a confidential report, the municipality said Nyoni had elected to take a two-phased leave for the period covering August 1 to 21 and November 10 to 28.
“Unfortunately, the town clerk was not in a position to resume duty on August 22 2014 as expected due to illness,” a confidential report reads.
“He was, therefore, on sick leave.”
However, the nature of his aliment and the country where he sought treatment were not disclosed.
