Party organising secretary Nelson Chamisa yesterday evening said as a party they believed in God, adding that the victims were responding well to medication and were out of danger.

“They are in hospital in Bulawayo. We talked to them and they are recuperating well,” he said. “We are praying that God heals them fast.

“As a party we want to see them healing, so that they can resume their duties and continue working for the people of Zimbabwe.” He could not be drawn to shed light on the condition of the former Speaker of Parliament Lovemore Moyo, saying they were praying to God as a party.

Meanwhile, the secretary-general for the Welshman Ncube led MDC Priscilla Mushonga, who was also involved in an accident with the party spokesperson Nhlanhla Dube, are both said to be recovering well after being discharged. They escaped with minor injuries in a crash that occurred 60km from Bulawayo along the Bulawayo-Harare road.

Sources said Misihairabwi-Mushonga suffered three broken ribs and she was discharged after being treated at a local hospital, while her driver was ferried to Harare, where he stays.

Efforts to get comment from Dube were fruitless as could not be reached on his mobile phone.
