ZVA secretary Ringisai Mapondera confirmed that the association would not be sending a team due to budgetary constraints.

“We are not sending a team to Tunisia although we already had a team on standby. This is due to financial constraints; our budget does not allow us,” Mapondera said.

Last year, the association failed to raise $15 000 to send four Under-23 players for the World Championships in Poland.
