Northern Region organising secretary Alex Masimba said four top teams from the country’s 10 provinces would take part.

“We have Division One leagues that run in the 10 provinces,” he said.

“Each province sends four teams to the play-offs for promotion into the Super League which would have four slots.”

He further added that African championships competitions were lined up for this year, although the venue was still to be decided.

“We have African championships to be held in either South Africa or Namibia. The venue is still to be decided,” he said.

Masimba said they were hoping to start the 2015 season on the first week of March.

Bulawayo province fixtures secretary Precious Mudenge said teams were yet to confirm participation in the play-offs with ZRP Bulawayo being the only one that had done so.

“Zimbabwe Republic Police Bulawayo is the only team that has confirmed taking part in the play-offs,” she said.

“Other teams are yet to confirm.”

Mudenge added that they were yet to come up with dates for Super League pre-season tournaments.

Last season Nehanda Nyakasikana won the championship, having lost once. They finished on 78 points while former champions ZDF Queens came second.

Zina promoted Corn Gold Mara from the Midlands, Jumbo Stars from Bulawayo, Warthog and Support Unit from Harare who came out top in the play-offs.

Jumbo Stars, ZRP Midlands, Mutare Poly and Black Rhinos finished at the bottom of the log last season.

Financial problems have led to number of teams pulling out of the league and caused cancellation of some matches as teams failed to fulfill fixtures.
