ABSA Premier Soccer League (PSL) leading scorer Cuthbert Malajila and his countryman Khama Billiat were on target for Mamelodi Sundowns as they beat Free State Stars 2-0 at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Saturday.

The three points were enough for the Brazilians to keep the chase on giants Kaizer Chiefs who played a goalless draw Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby at FNB Stadium earlier in the day.

Malajila scored with a brilliant header from a Siyanda Zwane free-kick just before half-time before Billiat made sure of maximum points in the 72nd minute with a left-footer from the edge of the box.
With a game in hand over Amakhosi and nine matches before the end of the season, Sundowns are now 11 points behind the log leaders.
Malajila was pulled out for Themba Zwane in the 69th minute while Billiat was substituted in added time.
It was a good call for the Brazilians who lost 0-1 to Bidvest Wits away from home last Tuesday.
