HIGHLANDER coach Bongani Mafu says scoring goals is not a responsibility for strikers alone and has challenged other players to weigh.

Bosso have been struggling to find the net having scored just two goals in their first four games.
Mafu, however, is confident his team will improve in that regard ahead of their Castle lager Premier Soccer League match against Chapungu, who are yet to score this season.
Highlanders have refused to release striker Thomas Chiduwe to the national Under-23 team as they seek to put their goal problems to rest.
“The responsibility to score goals is not for the strikers alone,” said Mafu. “Strikers will score goals depending on how the team is playing. The strikers should not be desperate for goals but it is the team that should be desperate for goals. Scoring is a team effort.”
Mafu said that in his squad he expects to get goals from anywhere in the pitch, thus he is not worried about the strikers not scoring.
In their match against Tsholotsho defender Teenage Hadebe scored in their 1-0 win while in their last encounter at home against Hwange another defender this time right back Webster Chingodza when they won with the same margin.

”We are not in a bad position at the moment and the players should not be put under pressure. When a team can get goals from any position it is good. Not all defenders can get goals and yet our defenders are scoring,” said Mafu.
He said Godfrey Makaruse and Simba Sithole are back in the team from injury while Rahman Kutsanzira has started light training.
“Most of them are still injured but they are trickling back. At the moment we can make do with the players that we have,” said Mafu.
Highlanders have Bruce Kangwa, Welcome Ndiweni, Tendai Ngulube and Thomas Chideu in Chingodza, Felix Chindungwe, Honest Moyo and Eric Mudzingwa all available.
Julius Daudi could also make the team seeing as his reverse clearance from Namibian side FNB XI and will be fighting for the left back position with Moyo.
Chapungu are also still to score and have conceded four times in the league. Their last encounter against ZPC Kariba was abandoned due a waterlogged pitch.
“It is worrisome that we are not scoring,” said Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino. “But we are going to score our first goal against Highlanders. I do not know what the scoreline will be but we will score against them.”
Nyikadzino said they were still without Maxwell Mavhuto who was injured a couple of weeks ago.
He said it is still too early for them to start worrying about their position on the log. Chapungu anchor the standings with one point and are still to win their first match.
