Alliance Francaise de Bulawayo an organisation dedicated to promotion of the French language as well as supporting arts and cultural events is calling on artistes to apply to perform at the World Music Day on June 20.

Interested artistes are asked to apply before May 30. Each performer (only 10 to be chosen) will be allocated 20 to 25 minutes between 11am and 4:30pm at Bulawayo Centre.
Performers will not be paid since the event aims at celebrating music and providing a platform for artistes to gain public exposure. The event will be fully supported by both Bulawayo Centre and Alliance Française de Bulawayo.
Alliance Française will supply sound system with drum set, transport allowance and refreshments.
Artistes are encouraged to bring own instruments.
Alliance Française director Marie-Hélène Prédhom released the requirements to Southern Eye Lifestyle in the following text: “Submit a write- up or CV of one page maximum of your band or group, name of band and band leader, main contact person, phone number and e-mail address, style of music and outline of previous public performances, Submit a CD with at least three different tracks and bring all in an envelope.”
World Music Day originated in France in 1982. The event is called fête de la musique (music feast).
