MIDLANDS State University (MSU) will this month host an international research conference on socio-economic development and value addition of natural resources.

The conference to be held from July 14 to 16 in Victoria Falls will run under the theme “Driving Socioeconomic Development through Value Addition and Sustainable Use of Resources.”

According to MSU, the conference is in line with its mission to develop the country’s economy through knowledge dissemination and application.

“Midlands State University is well poised to host the multidisciplinary international conference on Driving Socio-Economic Development through Value Addition and Sustainable Use of Resources which is in line with the provisions of part of MSU’s mission to improve the performance of the economy through the promotion of managerial skills and the generation, dissemination and application of knowledge,” MSU said on its official website.

Some of the sub-themes that would be addressed at the conference include science and technology and sustainable development computational sciences, nano-biotechnology, information technology, water resources management, climate change, food security and sustainable development.

The conference will touch on tourism and sustainable business strategies in global economic crises, appropriate, relevant and quality education as well as mass media and reporting on sustainable development, among other issues.
