Her mother Masister Moyo told Southern Eye yesterday that medical experts discovered that her daughter’s gall bladder duct was too small for her age, so she needed to be operated at a cost of $1 500.

The juvenile has been in and out of hospital since birth before doctors at Mpilo Central Hospital finally diagnosed her condition last November.

“Mandy was born with a condition and we thought it was a stomach problem. She had been in and out of hospital without a solution until some doctors at Mpilo realised the problem.

“The duct that attaches her gall bladder to the liver is said to be too small and it needs to be operated on in Harare,” Moyo said.

“Mpilo hospital staff advised me to raise $1 500 so that she could be assisted, but I am out of employment as is her father. I am appealing to individuals and the corporate world to help our daughter. Doctors had said I must return to Mpilo in January 2015 with $1 500.”

Mandy recently dropped out of school due to poor health.

Well-wishers could deposit money in her mother’s FBC Bank account number 3020209930193 or visit her family at house number 2998 Emakhandeni, Bulawayo.
