YPEDT founding trustee and chief executive officer Geniva Sibanda yesterday said the programme would be launched next month.

“Twenty schools have been identified and a total of 50 students will receive trophies and school bags as motivational incentives,” Sibanda said.

“This is done as an encouragement to other students. The project will be rolled out to other provinces with Matabeleland South being the second to benefit after Matabeleland North.”

He said the programme would benefit schools located in remote parts of the region, which have recorded poor “O” Level pass rates.

Sibanda, however, declined to identify some of the targeted beneficiaries.
