MBARE-BRED Zimdancehall artiste Seh Calaz, born Tawanda Mumanyi, is set for a musical contest in August with his young brother, Linford, who is a gospel musician.
The winner of the showdown will walk away with a cool US$5 000.
Speaking before thousands of congregants during a three-day fast and prayer wrap-up event in Mutoko last week, founder and leader of the St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World, bishop Sydney Mabhiza, announced that it will be a family affair when Zimdancehall will be clashing with the gospel genre between the two brothers at an international pilgrimage slated for August.
“Let me announce that sooner than later, we will organise a musical showdown between Seh Calaz and his brother, Linford Mumanyi, with the winner walking away with over US$5 000,” Mabhiza announced.
“It will be a musical family affair as the Mumanyi brothers will showcase their talents and the audience will judge for us to identify the victor during the clash.”
Added the church founder: “This is my assignment to you Linford to go, engage and extend an invitation to your brother Seh Calaz for this event in August.”
Meanwhile, Linford said he would soon extend the invitation to his brother.
“I am ready and will engage my brother for this event. Though we are into different musical genres, I am humbled to share the stage with him during that contest and after all, the US$5 000 cash prize remains within the family,” the soft-spoken gospel singer said.
