A 50 year-old Plumtree security guard has been arrested for stealing kitchen materials from his employer valued at US$6 000.

Nembaware sentenced him to a year in jail.

However, the sentence was conditionally suspended and commuted to 105 hours of community service.

Prosecutors said on August 6, Dube stole a generator, sink, 10 metal tray boxes and 15 shelving stands from his employer.

On August 13, Dube’s employer discovered that her property which she left in the custody of the accused person had been stolen.

After interrogation, Dube led to the recovery of the stolen property which he had kept at a local shop in Dingumuzi Business Centre.
