AIRFORCE side Chapungu have set their sights on conquering the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Soccer League this coming season and bounce back into the Premier Soccer League, four years after their exit.

Sheasham were the run-away winners for the promotion ticket despite the nous of Dynamos legend Moses Chunga as the Chapungu coach.

However, the newly-appointed club chairman, Tawanda Zowa says they will turn a corner this year.

“Actually the vision that I have for the club is the same as that of my predecessor. We have a collective vision at Chapungu which is to see the team back in the top league,” he told NewsDay Sports.

“I have knowledge of the system and the bulk of the players are the ones who were there when I was in the past executive as the spokesperson. So, I’m stepping into a familiar terrain and knows what is needed to be done.

“For us to achieve our target, we have brought back some of the players that were loaned out to other clubs. We know we are going to face stiff competition from other clubs who have been strengthening their teams as well but we have a reputation and name to protect.”

What gives them confidence is their experienced squad having recalled most of their players who were on loan.

The brought back defenders Collen Kwaramba, Blessed Mbavarira and midfielder Gracious Mleya from Black Rhinos.

Leroy Bernard, who was with Black Mambas in the Northern Region Soccer League also returned to the club.

Former Caps United forward Allen Tavarwisa, Tineyi Chitora, Xolani Ncube and Abton Chekai are also back at the club.
