Chiefs, Manica settle for a draw

BULAWAYO CHIEFS… 0

MANICA DIAMONDS… 0

VISITING Manica Diamonds held Bulawayo Chiefs to a goalless draw in balanced Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon.

It was not a good outing for both sides who remain stuck in the bottom half on the log table with The Ninjas static on position 13 with just 16 points while The Gem Boys rooted on the 16th spot with 11 points.

Chiefs last won a match when they surprised Caps United early last month followed by two draws and two defeats before another stalemate yesterday.

Manica Diamonds had a good run in the last four matches with two wins and two draws but remain in a poor position on the standings.

Bulawayo Chiefs coach John Nyikadzino was a disappointed but happy his side did not concede after losing 4-2 to Ngezi Platinum Stars last weekend.

“We were at home, we were supposed to win this match. Both teams did not create any meaningful chances to deserve a win. Nil all was a fair result. It was evenly balanced in terms of defending,” Nyikadzino said.

Patrick Mandizha for Manica Diamonds believes his team was supposed to win.

“With the way we played, we deserved better results than a draw. We created more and better chances to score than Bulawayo Chiefs,” Mandizha said.
