AFTER suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of troubled Black Rhinos at Rimuka Stadium last week, FC Platinum will entertain struggling Motor Action at Mandava Stadium today.

The shock defeat ensured FC Platinum remained stuck on position six on the log table with 26 points. FC Platinum will engage Motor Action without coach Lloyd Mutasa who is away on national duty in Zambia with the Warriors. His assistant Tendai Chikuni will be in charge. Platinum are also without striker Charles Sibanda and Ali Sadiki, who are also on national duty.

Despite Sibanda’s absence, the platinum miners have several talented players with the likes of Donald Ngoma, Mitchelle Katsvairo, Allen Gahadzikwa and Nelson Maziwisa. They have a strong midfield that has Thabani Kamusoko, Aaron Katebe and Joel Ngodzo, with the twin package of Elvis and Kelvin Moyo at the back.

The Mighty Bulls are sitting rock bottom with a paltry 13 points and head coach Joey Antipas is not sure if they will survive the Platinum onslaught. “They (Platinum) are the big favourites. There have been a cocktail of problems here (at Motor Action) financially since the beginning of the season and we do not have the right calibre of players. But the ball is round and if we come out with three points from Mandava, it will be a plus for us,” Antipas said. Some of the players in camp are veteran goalkeeper Marlon Jani, Clemence Matawu, Yves Ebabali, Passmore Benard, Misheck Mburayi, Douglas Walaza and Blessing Sande.

Meanwhile, Tripple B, who were hammered 5-1 by Buffaloes last week will be back home tomorrow in Beitbridge against Black Rhinos. Troubled Hwange, who brewed a shocker, thumping log leaders Harare City 4-1 a few weeks back at the Colliery, will also be at home on Sunday against Caps United.
