The house is situated at Inkubu Road, Selbourne Park. On the day of the sale, Ncube was present and made frantic efforts to stop the sale.

Ncube’s house was sold by Bulawayo Real Estate at Royal Hotel under instruction of the Sheriff of the High Court, who gave the garnish order for its disposal.

POSB is owed an undisclosed amount by Ellingbarn Trading (Pvt) Limited, where Ncube is one of the directors. The auctioneer went ahead with the sale, but advised bidders that there were indications that the auction will be contested.

The house was taken by the highest bidder at $60 000 after three bidders showed keen interest. According to the description by the auctioneer, the house comprises five bedrooms, with main en-suite, dining room, lounge, a cottage and has a precast wall.

Ncube last year was at the forefront of AAG Bulawayo branch’s call for a moratorium on litigation against businesspeople battling to pay rentals and other utilities in the city. They argued that litigations had become a business on their own and were negatively impacting on Bulawayo’s economy.

At the same auction, businessman Delma Lupepe’s two houses were auctioned for a combined value of $108 000. The third house, situated in Matsheumhlope, where his mother and co-director Grace Lupepe stays, was spared after its auctioning was withdrawn. Southern Eye could not establish why the sale of the house had been stopped.

Three financial institutions, Premier Banking Corporation, MBCA Bank and Interfin Merchant Bank descended on the three houses in the city to recover undisclosed debts his companies owe.

The properties, one at No 73 Heyman Road in Suburbs in Bulawayo, went for $53 000; his flat at No 1201, 12th Floor, Kenilworth Flats at Ascot, was sold for $55 000.
