THE Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) have set August 12 as the provinces deadline for the payment of affiliation fees for the Zimbabwe National Youth Games set to run from August 17 to 25.

Athletes from the country’s 10 provinces are expected to take part in sporting disciplines which include netball, handball, basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, boxing and athletics.
Bulawayo Province SRC coordinator Sam Dzvimbu yesterday told Southern Eye Sport that provinces were yet to fully pay up.
“We have set August 12 as the timeline for the payment of the affiliation fees. Most of the provinces have paid monies ranging from $5 000 to $15 000, but the target is about $18 000 per province. Mashonaland East are yet to pay, but we are confident that on August 12 they will have paid,” he said. The affiliation fees are pegged at $70 per athlete.
