A GWERU church has caused a stir in the Midlands capital after what appeared to be “gold dust” started appearing on the floor during a church service on Sunday.

Prophet Luke Chivasa of Miracle Mission Church of all Nations (MMCN) had reportedly perfomed a similar “miracle” at an Assemblies of God Church gathering at Mkoba Teachers’ College on Friday.
During the Sunday service, Chivasa reportedly declared that there “shall be a sign of blessing upon the congregants”. After his statement, the floor was filled with gold dust, some of the congregants claimed.
His personal assistant Fransisca Gavanga claimed that the dust was “pure gold” and was a sign that God had blessed the city and its residents.
“This is a first of its kind and it is a sign that God’s grace is not only upon MMCN members but upon the City of Gweru,” he said.
“God has remembered His children and he shall bless those who are faithful and obedient to His word.
“The city is destined for a new season and God’s blessings shall follow those who believe.”

Melody Dururu of Mkoba 11 said when she got home after the conference she saw more of the gold. The conference was also attended by prophet B Nwachukwu of South Africa and David Shabani of the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others.
There was similar controversy early this year when followers of prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa claimed that gold dust “rained” during one of his services in Harare.
MMCN celebrated its first anniversary last weekend. Chivasa, like Makandiwa, is a former member of the Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe.
