A GOKWE man from Muzondiwa village allegedly killed his brother by pummelling him several times on the head with a pot full of hot isitshwala/sadza following a dispute over an unspecified issue.

This emerged in the court appearance of Venga Mudzemba (42) on a murder charge before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja.
Mudzemba was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to January 13.
The State said on November 14 last year, Mudzemba was cooking isitshwala at his homestead in the village when his brother Raphael (54) arrived from a beer drink.
They clashed over an unspecified issue and a fist fight ensued. Mudzemba overpowered his older brother and grabbed the hot pot of isitshwala from the fire and struck his brother with it on the head several times.
He left him lying in a pool of blood and fled from the scene.
The brother was taken to Gokwe Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
