LAWYERS representing former Mthwakazi Liberation Front activist Paul Siwela in a treason case before the Bulawayo High Court have professed ignorance about his whereabouts amid reports that he is either holed up in Sweden or South Africa.

Siwela skipped bail early last month when retired Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Nicholas Ndou was due to make a ruling on his application for discharge.
The State represented by Lovack Masuku and Samuel Pedzisai, produced a letter written by Siwela indicating that he had skipped the country citing assassination threats by State secret agents.
Justice Ndou issued a warrant of arrest against Siwela.
Siwela’s lawyer Advocate Robert Ndlovu on Monday professed ignorance about his whereabouts.
“We have no information about Siwela. Check on Facebook you will find him, but we have no information on where he is. It is no longer for us to say where he is now,” Ndlovu said.
Siwela was active on Facebook and chatted with a Southern Eye reporter. When asked about his location, Siwela responded “I am at home” before going offline.

He later returned online and told Southern Eye: “Am currently not comfortable to mention my exact place though I am overseas. You have to understand the same people who wanted to kill me may still wish to carry out their evil plot. Hope you understand.”
