A senior member of the church, Edgar Moyo, was reacting to reports that Bulawayo City Council is investigating claims that the church was developing a car park without the local authority’s approval.

There were reports that the church was connected to Gumbura’s RMG Independent End Time Message church.

“We are not associated with Gumbura in any way,” Moyo said. “We are different, we don’t even know him.

“There are numerous End Time Messages and our church is sovereign.

“We don’t believe in polygamy like Gumbura does, but our church was founded on a message of the last days that was given by the prophet William Marion Branham.”

The church also challenged a Bulawayo council report accusing it of developing a car park in Nkulumane without the necessary development permit.

Gumbura is awaiting judgement in a case where he is alleged to have raped several church members.
