THE MDC-T Matabeleland South province has started restructuring and uniting warring factions, the party’s provincial chairman Watchy Sibanda said yesterday.
STAFF REPORTER
Sibanda told Southern Eye that the restructuring exercise was aimed at revamping the party that lost all parliamentary seats in the harmonised July 2013 elections in the province.
Zanu PF won all the 13 seats in Matabeleland South.
“This is what we are doing (restructuring). We are busy resuscitating our structures form cell, branch, district to the provincial level,” Sibanda said.
“There are people that joined us from other political parties before the elections and we need to integrate them into our structures so that we know where we stand as a party.”
Sibanda added that the restructuring exercise is aimed at giving hope to MDC-T followers.
“We want unity in the MDC. We want to give hope to those who support the party in Matabeleland South,” he added.
