This was heard when Fambisai Bikausaru (23) appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing a murder charge. Bikausaru was not asked to plead to the charge and was remanded in custody to February 2.

The court heard that on January 4 this year, Bikausaru was at Mbangiwa village under Chief Njelele where she had a quarrel with the now deceased Caroline Zingwara, whom she accused of snatching her husband.

The quarrel degenerated into a physical fight with Bikausaru allegedly punching and kicking Zingwara all over the body.

Zingwara later complained of a headache and stomach problems, and subsequently died on January 6.

A report was made to the police, leading to Bikausaru’s arrest.

In an unrelated case, a Gokwe man, Last Siziba (21), also appeared before the same magistrate facing a murder charge for allegedly knifing Washington Moyo to death on December 12, 2013 following an unspecified dispute.

Siziba was not asked to plead to murder and was remanded in custody to February 2.

Moyo died on the spot after allegedly being stabbed once on the collar bone with a knife by Siziba.

A report was made to the police and Siziba was arrested. Twitter feedback @silasnkala
